New stormwater rules will be implemented soon based on nutrient loads and removal. These new rules will allow for structural solutions as well as special landscape designs. We are staying on the cutting edge of this issue to help reduce your costs and the land used for stormwater treatment. It has already been determined that the nutrient based criteria will increase the size of stormwater ponds. We will provide you with alternative designs that will help keep the ponds from doubling in size. Be prepared to rethink your landscaping, adding deed restrictions on fertilizer and watering and/or making off-site drainage improvements. We work for cdd’s and hoa’s and see the issues they with which they wrestle. We have found them to be underfunded the first five years for certain maintenance items. Most of them are unaware of the costs to maintain mitigation and stormwater ponds. Let’s design them to be simpler and less costly to maintain after you finish your project.
